What is Chiropractic?

I wanted to create this specific page for many of you who have never been exposed to the art and practice of chiropractic. “Alternative medicine”and “Hollistic care” are just a few words that are associated with chiropractic. However, the medicinal art of chiropractic cannot be explained without a fundamental understanding of the complexities of the human spine.

As we all know the nervous system controls our health and bodily function by being the core of our immune system and network for musculoskeletal communication. Chiropractic in essence is the art and profession of re-structuring the human body along with the removal of any interference which may disrupt the functions of the nervous system.

What can my Chiropractor do for me?

What your chiropractor can do for you is very dependent on the stage of spinal degeneration you present or the kinds of injuries your spine has sustained. Regardless of your age and the stage of spinal degeneration you present, your chiropractor will be able to help you significantly decrease the rate of degeneration by giving specific adjustments, increasing the intervertebral disc space and addressing postural imbalance issues which may be “stressors” to the vertebrae. Your chiropractor will then provide you with a set of exercises to help strengthen the muscles surrounding the vertebrae to establish integrity and resistance to your specific degenerative tendencies
